With the exception of those granted by Flasks, buffs are always deactivated on the player's death, though even Flasks are terminated along with the player in the Old-gen console version, Windows Phone version, and Nintendo 3DS version. Most Buffs can be deactivated prematurely by right-clicking their icon, though those that are granted by proximity to an item will only deactivate when the player is no longer in range ( see Environmental below).Īctivated buffs are bound to a character, and persist as that character moves from server to server and from world to world.
#Terraria fishing potion update#
A player is limited to 22 (44 as of the 1.4.4 update ) ( 10) active buffs and debuffs at any one point, and the leftmost buff in the bar will be deactivated if another is applied after this limit is reached. Buffs are almost universally positive or at least benign effects, in contrast with Debuffs, over which the player has much less control.īuffs can be easily activated with the buff hotkey (default B on PC), which activates all the buff-granting consumables in the player's inventory (starting from the top-left) that are not currently activated. Active buffs are shown as icons below the hotbar, along with their remaining duration. Buffs are positive status effects granted to a player upon consuming, equipping, or otherwise activating various items.
